Community and review guidelines
IPTV Help works when people share honest, first-hand experience and treat each other decently. These rules apply to every post, review and report.
Community rules
- Be civil. Criticize services, not people. No harassment, hate, threats or personal attacks.
- No stream links, playlists or logins. Never post or ask for M3U or playlist links, Xtream Codes or portal details, MAC addresses paired with portals, usernames, passwords or any other way to access a service. Don’t share your own credentials either.
- No piracy sources. No links to unlicensed streams, cracked apps or other piracy sources. Talking about apps, devices and settings is fine.
- No selling or spam. No ads, “DM me”, messaging-app handles, referral or coupon codes, or offers to sell accounts, subscriptions or reseller panels.
- Protect privacy. Don’t post anyone’s personal information, including your own email or phone number.
- Stay on topic. Post in the right category and search before starting a thread that already exists.
Links posted by members are marked as user content and are not endorsed by IPTV Help.
Review rules
- First-hand only. Review a provider only if you used it yourself. Don’t repost someone else’s experience.
- One review per provider. You can edit your review later, but you can’t post a second one, and you can’t use another account to do it.
- Disclose any affiliation. If you work for, own or resell any IPTV service, including as a reseller or sub-panel, say so. Affiliated accounts can take part in the forum, but their reviews don’t count toward any score.
- No incentives. Don’t review in exchange for anything, such as a free month or a refund. If a provider offered you something for a review, tell us.
- Be specific. Say what worked and what didn’t, on which device, and for how long.
Negative reviews and scam reports
Critical reviews are welcome; they are held for a moderator because serious claims need care, not because they are negative. To be published, a review with an overall rating of 2 stars or less, or one that makes serious allegations, needs specifics:
- when it happened (dates or a date range);
- what happened, in your own words;
- what you tried, and whether you contacted the provider’s support (when, how and what they said).
Describe facts you experienced (“I paid on 3 October and never received login details”) rather than stating crimes as fact (“they are criminals”). Scam reports also need at least one piece of evidence, such as a payment record, which only moderators see. A provider named in a scam report is offered a chance to reply.
What gets checked before it appears
Some content is held for a moderator before it becomes public. The author can see it while it waits. This includes:
- every review from someone without an account, and every review from a new member;
- reviews rated 2 stars or less overall, or that make serious allegations;
- every scam report;
- a new member’s first posts, and posts with links outside a short list of trusted sites;
- posts that look like selling, solicitation or credential sharing.
Posts that mention the site owner’s own service are not held for that reason, and a negative opinion of it is never a reason to remove anything. See our disclosure.
Trust levels
Trust levels reflect participation in the community. Higher levels unlock more features and higher posting limits, and give reviews a little more weight in the ranking formula (a review from the highest level counts 2 times one from the lowest, all else being equal).
- TL0 · New member
- Everyone starts here. You can read, post and review. Your reviews are checked by a moderator before they appear; forum posts appear straight away and are removed if they break these guidelines.
- TL1 · Basic
- Automatic once your account is a day old and you have made 3 forum posts or had 1 review published. Your reviews then publish without waiting (except reviews of 2 stars or less, which are always checked).
- TL2 · Member
- Automatic once your account is 14 days old with 20 forum posts (or 5 posts and 2 published reviews), and nothing of yours removed in the last 30 days. Higher daily posting limits.
- TL3 · Regular
- For sustained, helpful participation over months. Currently granted by moderators.
- TL4 · Leader
- Granted by hand to trusted Regulars who have signed a conflict-of-interest declaration. Can help with the held-posts queue, but not with negative reviews or scam reports.
Every level has limits on how often you can post, review, link and flag, and the limits rise with each level. Member links stay marked as user content at every level.
Who moderates, and what automated checks can do
- Moderators are people. They approve or reject held content, edit out rule-breaking parts (with a public note), remove content with a reason code, and apply sanctions.
- Automated checks screen new posts and reviews and can hold content for a moderator, but they never delete anything. They also look for fake reviews and can only lower a suspicious review’s weight, never raise it or remove it. Only people remove content or sanction accounts.
- Members can flag posts. Enough flags hide a post until a moderator looks at it.
Moderators never remove a review because it is negative, because a provider asked, or because it suits the site owner.
Reason codes
Every removal or rejection cites one of these public codes, so you always know which rule applied.
| Code | Meaning |
|---|---|
G1 | Spam or advertising, including “DM me”, contact handles, or selling accounts or reseller panels |
G2 | Stream links, playlists, login details, portal/MAC pairs, or other piracy sources |
G3 | Personal information about someone else |
G4 | Harassment, hate or threats |
G5 | Wrong category (moved, not removed) |
G6 | Duplicate (merged or closed) |
G7 | No useful content |
R1 | Review: not a first-hand experience |
R2 | Review: undisclosed conflict of interest (owner, employee, reseller, competitor) |
R3 | Review: multiple accounts or coordinated reviews |
R4 | Review: evidence requirement not met for serious negative claims |
R5 | Review: allegation of a crime stated as fact without evidence |
R6 | Review: incentivized (something was offered or received) |
S1 | Scam report: insufficient evidence |
S2 | Scam report: withdrawn by reporter |
L1 | Legal request (copyright notice or court order) |
O1 | Other (a written public explanation is required) |
Sanctions
Repeated or serious breaks of the rules lead to, in order: a warning, a 24-hour read-only period, a 7-day read-only period, a 30-day suspension, and a ban. Spam and selling go straight to a ban. Strikes expire after 180 days.
Appeals
If we hold, remove or reduce the weight of something you posted, or sanction your account, you can appeal:
- appeal within 30 days of the notice, once per decision, explaining in up to 1,000 characters why you think the decision was wrong (you can add new evidence);
- appeals are decided by a different staff member from the one who made the original decision whenever one exists; while only one person moderates, the appeal record says so openly;
- the outcome is upheld or overturned, and overturned content is restored.
If the appeal button isn’t available to you, email help@supportiptv.ca with a link to the content.
For providers
A provider can ask for a right of reply through our contact page. After we confirm the provider controls its website domain, it can post one public response per review or scam report and can dispute an item for moderator review. Providers can’t remove, hide or edit reviews, and responses never change scores.
